I'm a student pursuing a doctoral degree in late medieval history. My main interests include but are not limited to Latin, Italian, cultural theory, educational curriculum, historiography, cognitive processes, language-theory, gender relations and THE WESTERN CANON (mwahaha); i am not particularly interesting, avant-garde or risque; My main hobbies include the exciting activities of cooking, baking, going to the gym, eating green apple-caramel lollipops, restaurant reviewing and acting as child-like and sassy as possible. I keep these entries from the years of my life - no matter how i feel about them today - available because i find it useful to revisit events i now interpret differently. My name is heather, i'm of Montreal and i was born in the nefarious, ominous year 1984.

Dandelions are our friends

Yellow and orange are my two favourite colours. Of course, they are both colours that look sort of funky against my blonde’s complexion - but no matter! Sunshine and candlelight and butter! I spend a lot of time not liking Spring - because it’s rainy and cold and lacking in bright colours. Today, however, is looking to be a beautiful day and as i sat on the steps outside the office, i couldn’t help but want to pick up a dandelion that has lost its petals and blow the spores into someone’s face.

Of course, i’m by myself - and as most people these days seem to suffer from allergies it would be cruel. No matter. I sat and watched the fluff lazily spiraling on the light wind. I remembered why i love to travel - because when you’re traveling there really isn’t anything more important to do than sit out in the sun and enjoy the warmth.

Then i came into our flourescent-lit office, sat down and my desk and stared at the picture of Amalfi i am using to get me through these pre-Italy days.
