Sybil’s Leaves 2009: Italian Sunset Highlights
I wish that i could find the motivation to wake up in the morning for sunrises - the closest i have come thus far was a close-call to a nuit-blanche spent reading Stranger in a Strange Land. Finally in possession of my photos from Rome and now inspired to start being a shutterbug in Perugia, i will be providing my readers with some photos arranged thematically on days when i can’t bring myself to write out long-winded epistles about the events of the past twenty-four hours. There should be photographs to accompany future posts like that too…

These two are actually of the same sunset - spaced about an hour apart. The first was taken from the shores of the Tiber River as i was standing by the bridge staring down into the mass of vegetation below. Looking up, i was just blown away by this sunset that i continued snapping pictures of as i continued my long, winding trek around the field of Mars and the back of the Colosseum. I cannot tell you which church’s belltower the lower is - but i like it very much. Until the sun started setting, i was feeling sort of overwhelmed by Roma. However, even with aching feet to make each step an agony, i couldn’t work up a bad mood when everytime i turned my head i was confronted with the most beautiful pink sunset.

Taken on Friday evening while having some white wine in the garden of Rosso e Vino with Michelle. It was rather fortuitous that the setting sun was the only place on the horizon where the clouds broke - we were being rained on. I am particularly fond of the Perugian skyline which is captured rather perfectly in this shot.
